Meet Ashley

Hello! I am Ashley Irwin, founder of Brainy Boost Tutoring.
I started Brainy Boost Tutoring with the goal to provide specialized tutoring services that meet each student’s specific needs in learning and development. Combining 10+ years in classroom leading experience and my masters in reading and literacy, I have found that one on one instruction works best for supporting students who need a little extra boost.

    I work with elementary students in grades k-4 in math.

    In literacy, I work with students in grades k-8.

  • Sessions

    My sessions are 30 minutes long. We can get through so many focused activities within this amount of time without students losing interest.

    I accept cash, check, or Venmo.

  • My approach in literacy instruction

    My literacy approach is based on the Science of Reading. All of my activities are backed by research that is proven effective in students learning to read. We will focus heavily on phonics and phonemic awareness. This will look different at each grade level. All of the skills we work on will transfer into building those reading muscles within age appropriate texts.

  • Math Instruction Approach

    In my math tutoring sessions, I like to make sure we address the whole mathematician. We work on Common Core Standards using multiple hands on activities to address each skill. I love to use different visual aides and support tools to solidify understanding.
